Gardai put homemade rocket seized in co. wexford on display
A homemade rocket found in County Wexford last year was amoung the weapons shown to the media yesterday. It was seized as part of an operation tackling dissident republicans in Courtown and put on show by Gardai to warn the public that dissident groups may use the 1916 centenary to recruit new members. It was one of four weapons which were homemade using specs from the internet and based on a rocket popular with Hamas militants in Palestine. Sergeant Tom Carey, a Garda ballistics expert, told reporters that while the rocket appeared crude, it could do serious damage.
