Government chief whip says taoiseach intends to stay in power into 2021
The Taoiseach intends to lead the next Dáil and the one after. Fine Gael Chief Whip Paul Kehoe says Enda Kenny will serve a full-term if re-elected and then contest the 2021 general election as leader of the party. Speaking to the Irish Examiner, the Wexford TD said while there are many in the party besides Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney who aspire to be Taoiseach, Enda Kenny is going nowhere. Deputy Kehoe also said he expects a vote transfer pact between Fine Gael and Labour in the upcoming general election.
