The Minister for Defence Paul Kehoe has blamed the improving economy for retention problems within the forces.
It follows a report which shows serious morale issues amongst members. While he admitted difficulties within the force - the Wexford Minister with repsonsibility for Defence says a new recruitment campaign offers opportunities for young people that no other career can provide. The army, navy and air corps are to take in eight hundred and sixty new recruits this year.
