Increase in traffic to irish ports last year
Irish ports handled more traffic last year, when compared to 2012. Just under 12,000 vessels arrived into Irish ports, most of which were goods ships. There were 1,683 ship arrivals into Rosslare Europort during 2013 while there were 122 arrivals into New Ross port. However the data from the Central Statistics Office shows that our ports saw an overall drop in goods traffic. They handled 46.7 million tonnes of goods, a decrease of 1.9 percent.
