Industrial action continues at roadstone sites in co. wexford
Pickets are continuing at two Roadstone sites in County Wexford with no sign as of yet in a breakthrough. Around 350 members of SIPTU and the TEEU are carrying out the action across the country in a row over bonus payments. Nationwide industrial action has been underway at Roadstone sites since last Monday. 15 administrative, general operatives and drivers at the construction company's site in Kilmuckridge in Gorey and Brownswood in Enniscorthy are affected. As well as a number of contract staff. The dispute centres on a 2012 cost reduction package, including an 89% cut to an annual bonus. The unions argue that as the 6 million euro savings target has been exceeded, the bonuses should be restored with immediate effect. However, it's understood the company wants to phase the restoration between now and 2019.
