Investigation launched after amusement ride became stuck
A fairground ride in Co Waterford remains closed this morning after 6 people got stuck mid air - when it malfunctioned last night. An investigation is underway into what went wrong with the 'Chair -o- Plane' style ride. Members of the fire service were called to the scene in Tramore shortly after 7:30pm and all six people were rescued. Garda John McDonald has been speaking to WLR FM. "We had six people trapped on the ride - two ladies and four young ladies" he said. "The fire service from both Tramore and Waterford both were called, and with the expertise of the hydraulic were able to extract the people from the ride - which is about approximately 80-feet high" he added.
