John hegarty elected as chairman of gorey district
The first meeting of Gorey District Council took place last night. It's first chairman is Fine Gael Councillor John Hegarty who was proposed by Fianna Fail and seconded by Labour. The eight member council now has responsibility for the administrative running of Gorey town and district. John Hegarty say his priorities for the year will be reducing Gorey town rates, giving support to community groups and improving tourist facilities in North Wexford.
