A man in his 30s has been arrested following a dramatic garda operation in Enniscorthy in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Gardaí observed a vehicle in the Scarawalsh area which failed to stop and fled towards Enniscorthy, later ramming a patrol car during the incident.
The vehicle was brought to a stop and the driver was arrested at the scene. A search uncovered a firearm, ammunition, controlled drugs valued at around €40,000, and over €8,000 in cash.
The man was taken to Wexford General Hospital before being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, with investigations ongoing.
