McDonald’s is expanding its footprint in Wexford with the opening of a new restaurant in New Ross on February 11th, 2026 marking a €3 million investment in the area. The opening will also create 70 new jobs ranging from full-time and part-time crew member roles to managerial positions. The new 400 square metre single-storey restaurant will feature a drive-thru, 50 car parking spaces, bicycle parking, electric car chargers and an outdoor seating area. The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 6am to midnight. As with all McDonald’s locations across Ireland the restaurant will serve 100% Irish beef, bacon, milk, water and eggs further supporting the local agri-food sector. Franchisee John Byrne expressed excitement about the opening, emphasizing McDonald’s commitment to economic growth and community engagement. He noted that the restaurant's establishment would not only create local employment but also contribute to the ongoing development of County Wexford. This new location brings McDonald’s restaurant portfolio in the Republic of Ireland to 96, employing over 7,000 people nationwide. McDonald’s Ireland contributes more than €414 million to the Irish economy every year.
