Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD, has today announced the appointment of Carol Tancock as the new Chairperson of the Housing Agency. Tancock, who has been serving as interim chairperson since June 2025, officially steps into the role with extensive expertise and a deep understanding of the Agency's mission. She originally joined the board in 2023 as an independent non-executive director.
Minister Browne praised Tancock’s leadership, stating, “The Housing Agency is a vital organisation in driving our national housing agenda, as outlined in our Housing Action Plan, Delivering Homes, Building Communities. Carol’s skills, experience, and oversight are essential to guide the Agency through this important period and ensure continued progress in delivering high-quality, affordable homes across the country.”
Tancock brings more than 25 years of experience in European financial institutions, focusing on commercial real estate, infrastructure financing, and portfolio management. She is currently the Managing Director of FMS Wertmanagement in Dublin and has a strong background in governance and oversight within the housing sector. Tancock holds an MSc in Investment and Treasury and qualifications in corporate governance and as a Chartered Director.
Alongside Tancock, two new board members, John Ring and Eoin O'Lideadha, have been appointed. Ring, Director of Research at Savills, brings significant experience in research, investment, and economic consultancy. O'Lideadha, a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, has over 30 years of corporate finance experience, having worked on major infrastructure projects and financial advisory services.
