The staffing situation in the New Ross Garda District has reached crisis levels.
That's according to local GRA representative Derek Campion in an interview in today's New Ross Standard. The Garda Representative Association is calling for emergency measures to be put in place in the district to increase the number of Gardai on the beat. Eight senior Gardai have been lost to the New Ross area with none replaced. On weekends there are now only two Gardai on duty in the whole district which stretches from Ballywilliam to The Hook.
