The Pecker Dunne Music Festival is set to return on Saturday, July 11, with a new home at Maudlintown Green, as organisers build on the success of last year's inaugural event.
The free, family-friendly festival celebrates the life and legacy of the late traditional musician, singer and songwriter Pecker Dunne, whose strong links with Wexford inspired many of his best-known songs. Following a huge turnout in 2025, organisers have moved the festival to the larger Maudlintown Green to accommodate an even bigger audience.
Visitors can enjoy a full day of traditional and folk music, live performances, community entertainment and family-friendly activities, with musicians from Wexford and across Ireland expected to take part. Organisers say the festival is about more than music – it's a celebration of local heritage, culture and community spirit.
Pecker Dunne's son, Stephen Dunne, who played a central role in establishing the festival, continues to help keep his father's legacy alive. The organising committee is committed to making the festival an annual highlight on Wexford's cultural calendar.
Admission is free, and everyone is invited to come along to Maudlintown Green on July 11 for a day celebrating one of Ireland's most beloved traditional musicians through music, storytelling and community.
