The President Michael D Higgins will pay an official visit to Wexford on Sunday to honour John Redmond
John Redmond was the founder of The Irish Parliamentary Party and achieved Home Rule for Ireland in the years before the 1916 Rising His legacy has sometimes been forgotten and President Higgins will pay tribute at the Redmond 100 seminar in Wexford Library on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death The President will then visit John Redmond's grave at Saint Johns Cemetery in the town at which there will be a wreath laying ceremony performed by him
