A resident living near Boolavogue says local families are being asked to pay €700 each towards resurfacing a deteriorating road in the area.
Catriona says the road has become so damaged that motorists regularly suffer punctures and vehicle damage, while residents struggle to walk safely along it.
She argues that householders already pay property tax and motor tax and should not be expected to contribute additional money for essential road repairs
