A season of outdoor events continues at the Creative Activity Garden at St John’s Community Hospital in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, where audiences enjoyed a performance from Tumble Circus on Friday.
The show, titled “Won’t be Told”, was performed by founders Ken and Tina and explored the experience of continuing to create and push physical limits over time. Blending acrobatics, juggling and comedy, the performance delivered a deliberately chaotic energy while challenging the idea of fading into the background with age.
Set in the amphitheatre-style Creative Activity Garden, the event brought together residents and service users of the hospital campus, staff, visitors and members of the local community. Refreshments were provided by the catering team at St John’s Community Hospital.
The Creative Activity Garden is a multi-functional outdoor space designed for gatherings and health and wellbeing activities in the heart of the HSE healthcare campus. It continues to host a range of cultural and community events since opening last year.
Recently appointed HSE Integrated Services Lead for Waterford/Wexford, Sarah Donnelly, attended the performance and was welcomed by Kas Nolan, Director of Nursing for Waterford/Wexford Mental Health Services.
The project is supported by Wexford County Council’s Culture and Creativity team and Age Friendly programme, in partnership with the HSE, Creative Ireland, the Irish Architectural Foundation and Enniscorthy Men’s Shed. It also received funding under the Government’s Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
