Wexford 7th in ibal survey
Dog fouling has prevented the promenade on Wexford's quayfront from getting the top litter grade. That's according to the latest IBAL Litter survey of some forty towns around the country. The fouling of the promeade by dogs was the only major blackspot for Wexford town in the IBAL Survey. The town came seventh out of forty towns around the country and is one of eighteen towns to be declared Cleaner than the European Norm. Approach roads to the town were very well kept while the area around Wexford Arts Centre and Wexford Vocational College were singled out for special mention. However the adjudicators suggested that the local authority might introduce the Green Dog Walkers Initiative to control dog fouling on the promenade. This inintiative is being used by other councils in some towns around the country with good success.
