Wexford Arts Centre is hosting the Leinster Poetry Slam Final for the first time, bringing poets from across the province together for a night celebrating spoken word.
The event takes place tonight, October 29th, with doors opening at 7pm and performances beginning at 7.30pm.
Poets will compete across two rounds, with each performer given a maximum of three minutes to deliver a poem from memory.
A panel of judges will select six poets to progress to the second round, with the winner crowned Leinster Slam Champion.
The top three performers will qualify to represent Leinster at the All-Ireland Poetry Slam Final later this year, with cash prizes also available for the top three contestants.
Organisers say bringing the final to Wexford is an opportunity to showcase new voices and ensure opportunities for spoken-word artists are not centred solely in Dublin.
The event is open to everyone, not just poetry enthusiasts, with audiences invited to experience a night of creative competition and live performance.
Tickets are available through the Wexford Arts Centre website.
