An application by Wexford County Council under the Housing Activation Fund has been rejected.
It is one of six local authorities around the country whose application for the funding hasn't been given the green light. The two hundred and twenty six million euro fund is going towards the provision of road water and sewage services to lands zoned for housing which remain undeveloped. Twenty three thousand homes are expected to be developed in the fifteen local authority areas that have received funding under the scheme.
