A local councillor says the community in Gusserane have been given a kick in the teeth this week.
Residents have been expressing their displeasure following the news that planning permission has been granted for a 300 acre solar farm at Nash.
The Gusserane Community Action Group says it will appeal the decision as they feel their voices haven't been heard in this process.
Local councillor Marty Murphy says they've been punished despite their best efforts
Planning permission was granted to Gen7 this week for their proposed Shelburne Energy Farm near Gusserane.
Councillors previously discussed the possibility of introducing a ‘material contravention’ of the County Development Plan.
This would mean the regulations regarding solar farms in Co Wexford would be altered, making it harder for them to receive planning permission in the future.
That ultimately didn't happen in this instances but councillor Marty Murphy says they won't be caught out next time
