Wexford General Hospital is losing thousands of euro per year because of no shows for hospital appointments.
Nationally Over 1,300 patients don't show up for hospital appointments every day - costing the Health Service over 210,000 euro daily. At Wexford General out of 3,278 appointments in one month, 441 people failed to show up, meaning others on the waiting list lost out. Manager of the Hospital Lily Byrnes says measures are being put in place to reduce the number of no shows for hospital appointments.
