New legislation, named 'Jax's Law', will be drafted to recognize unborn children as individual victims in road traffic collisions
It follows a campaign led by Wexford Woman Saoirse Aylward, whose unborn son, Jax, died after a crash in January 2024.
Ms Aylward's campaign highlights the lack of legal recognition for unborn children as separate victims in such incidents under current laws.
A petition calling for the law has already gained over 2,000 signatures, with supporters hoping it will provide closure for families affected by similar tragedies.
