Wexford SNA Warns Children Will Suffer as Protests Erupt Over Planned Cuts

A Wexford SNA who is set to lose his job in September says it will be the children who will suffer the most if future cuts are made to Special Needs Assistants. Protests against the reductions took place across Wexford this afternoon, with more nationwide demonstrations scheduled to take place this week.

The Government has paused planned cuts to SNA's after widespread backlash from schools and parents. The controversy comes amid a sharp rise in children with additional needs and concerns over SNA shortages in mainstream classrooms.

Speaking to South East Radio News Andrew who has been an SNA in Wexford Educate Together for two years says the needs of the children must be prioritized.
