A student from Bunclody Community College has been recognised at a national awards ceremony celebrating positive mental health through art.
Ari Ghosh was named runner-up in the secondary schools category of the Mission Possible School Achievement Awards, organised by Walk in My Shoes, the youth mental health initiative of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services.
The annual competition invites students from across Ireland to create artwork promoting positive mental health messages, aiming to encourage discussion around wellbeing in schools and communities.
Ari’s entry, titled “Unwind”, was shortlisted from entries nationwide and showcased at an awards ceremony in Dublin.
Organisers say the standard of entries highlights the creativity and commitment of young people in challenging stigma and promoting mental wellbeing through art.
The initiative is open to primary schools, secondary schools and further education centres across the country.
