A Wexford woman whose unborn son was stillborn following a road crash in January 2024, has called for legislative reform at the sentencing of Yurii Dudek, the man responsible.
Dudek, who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, caused a three-vehicle collision on the Rosslare to Wexford Road.
The woman, 31 weeks pregnant at the time, had an emergency C-section but lost her baby son.
During the court hearing, she expressed frustration that Irish law does not recognize her son as a separate victim in the incident.
Dudek, who was in Ireland delivering humanitarian aid for Ukraine, faces sentencing after admitting guilt.
The judge is due to deliver that sentencing this morning
