Wexford woman taken to court after case hits flight attendant

An airline flight attendant has settled a High Court action for damages after a suitcase hurtled down an escalator and struck her. The 57 year-old brought the against the Dublin airport Authority and a Wexford woman. Aer Lingus worker Jean Nolan from Malahide in Dublin claimed she was injured when she heard a shout and a suitcase came hurtling down an escalator and struck her. The case belonged to Kate Doyle from Kitestown in Crossabeg. Ms Nolan sued both Ms Doyle and the Dublin Airport Authority for injuries allegedly received on May 3rd 2011. The legal action was due to resume when Mr Justice Kevin Cross was told it had been settled against the DAA and could be struck out. Both the DAA and Kate Doyle denied the claims. Signs for lifts at Terminal 2 in Dublin Airport have since been modified and now have a barrier to prevent cases from being carried on.
