SPORT: GOOD WEEKEND FOR WEXFORD HURLING AND CAMOGIE

It was a good weekend for County Wexford with the senior hurling team booking their place in the All Ireland quarter finals while the senior camogie team advanced to the semi-finals.

The senior hurlers overcame Waterford with 3 points to spare 3-15 to 2-15 on Saturday and will now play Limerick in Thurles on Sunday at 2 o’clock.

While the camogie team beat Dublin by a massive scoreline – 5-19 to 13 points – and will play again on the 23rd of August.

County Chairman Diarmuid Devereux says the hurlers have given the county a massive boost.

Meanwhile patrons travelling to the Wexford versus Limerick All Ireland hurling Quarter final are advised to get thir tickets early.

Tickets go on sale in Wexford Park tomorrow and on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.30 to 12.30 and from 2.30 to 4.30 each day with tickets also on sale tomorrow evening from 6.30 to 8.30.

There’s some concern that stand tickets for the double header which also features Dublin and Tipperary have already been sold.

However Wexford County Board secretary Margaret Doyle says this suggestion is not true.

She says Wexford have been given an allocation and that they will be on sale tomorrow for however long they last.
