Sport: Wexford Hurlers To Face All Ireland Champions Clare

SPORT: WEXFORD HURLERS TO FACE ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONS CLARE

Wexford’s hurlers first outing in the All Ireland qualifiers will be against champions Clare.

The game will take place in Ennis on either this Saturday June 28th or next Saturday July 5th.

Wexford County Chairman Diarmuid Devereux believes the game will be in Cusack Park this weekend.

It means supporters will have to decide to travel to Clare to watch the hurlers or to travel to Dublin on the Sunday when the footballers take on Dublin.

Meanwhile Diarmuid Devereux believes the Wexford team are not afraid to play anyone.

He says if they really want to be in the top 6 teams in the country again travelling to Clare shouldn’t put them off.

In the other ties Antrim will play Offaly and Waterford will take on Laois.

Meanwhile Kilkenny and Galway will meet again this Saturday in Tullamore following their dramatic draw at O’Conor Park yesterday.

The loser will face Tipperary.

Confirmation of the time, dates and venues will be announced this afternoon.
