TALKS TO RESTORE POWER SHARING IN NORTHERN IRELAND BACK UNDERWAY

Politicians have returned to Stormont in an effort to restore power-sharing in the North.

The executive collapsed almost three years ago – and previous attempts to restore the institutions have been unsuccessful.

An assembly election will be called if a deal isn’t struck in the next 11 days.

The DUP were blamed for blocking a pre-Christmas agreement – but said they wouldn’t be boxed into a corner.
