Socialist Party TD Ruth Coppinger has described the Citizen’s Assembly on the 8th amendment as a ‘charade’.
Tens of thousands of people took part in yesterday’s March for Choice in Dublin.
Demonstrators are calling for a referendum on the 8th Amendment – which gives equal right to life to a fetus as to a pregnant woman.
A citizens’ assembly will hold its first meeting – to consider the question of abortion – on Saturday the 15th of October.
