TRIAL OF CO. WEXFORD WOMAN ACCUSSED OF KILLING PARTNER CONTINUES
The trial of a north Wexford woman charged with murder opened at the Central Criminal Court yesterday.
Caroline Roche claimed she is not guilty by reason of insanity.
52 year-old Ms Roche from Ballyedmond, Monamolin denies the murder of 84 year-old Walter Plunkett in August 2012.
The court was told that Mr Plunkett had lived with his partner Caroline Roche for more than ten years.
On the afternoon of the 19th of August 2012 Gardai received a phonecall from Ms Roche stating that she had killed him.
Gardai arrived on the scene and found the deceased man outside his house.
The court heard that Carolin Roche was then admitted to a psychiatric unit in Waterford where she made further references to killing Mr Plunkett.
The trial is continuing today before Mister Justice Barry White and a jury of six men and six women.
