VOTERS GO TO THE POLLS IN THE UK

Nearly 50 million voters across the UK are going to the polls today to vote in the closest general election in generations.

They are choosing who they want to be their Member of Parliament in 650 constituencies.

Voting ends at 10pm tonight.

Professor John Curtis from the University of Strathclyde is the President of the British Polling Council.

He says it is unclear who will get more seats, the Tories or Labour.

“This is an election bounded by uncertainties, and crucial amongst those uncertainties is exactly how big the swing against the Conservatives will be since 2010 in the crucial marginal seats in which – almost undoubtedly – the balance between Conservatives and Labour will lie” he said.
