Wexford County Council Supports End To Public Water Fluoridation

WEXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL SUPPORTS END TO PUBLIC WATER FLUORIDATION

Members of Wexford County Council passed a motion supporting an end to the practice of public water fluoridation this week.

The motion tabled by Sinn Féin Councillor Fionntán Ó Súilleabháin was passed unanimously at this month’s meeting of Wexford County Council on Monday.

It set out that the council would be calling on the Government to cease and reverse Ireland’s Health (fluroidation of water supplies) act 1960 with immediate effect.

All parties supported the motion.

Wexford becomes the first major council to formally adopt a position of opposition in 2015 and the 6th major council to do so since the beginning of 2014 when Cork County, Cork City, Kerry, Laois and Dublin City put their weight behind the campaign.
