Boston Marathon Bomber Found Guilty

BOSTON MARATHON BOMBER FOUND GUILTY

The defence team for the convicted Boston marathon bomber is expected to push for him to be given a life sentence rather than the death penalty.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was yesterday found guilty of all 30 charges in relation to the atrocity.

Three people – including an 8-year-old boy – died and more than 260 others were injured near the race’s finish line in April 2013.

Reporter with the Boston Herald, Kevin Cullen, says the guilty verdict had been widely expected, but that didn’t make it any easier for the victims families.

“As much as we’re saying this was expected and sort of anti-climatic, that did not make it any easier for the victim who had to sit there and listen to this” he said.

“But it was quite a scene…it went on…there were so many charges and so many subsets of the charges”.

“But he was found guilty of everything that was before the jury” he added.
