CLLR CALLS FOR GOVT AID FOR STORM DAMAGE REPAIRS

A Wexford County Councillor is the Government to help fund the clean up operation after last week’s flooding.

Millions of Euros worth of damage was caused by a combination of strong winds and high tides on Thursday night and Friday morning.

In Dublin city the River Liffey rose to its highest level ever recorded, while in Lahinch County Clare, pavements in the seaside village were torn up by the force of the water.

New Ross was also hit by flooding and local Fianna Fáil Councillor Michael Sheehan says they will insist on financial aid.
