CONCERN OVER BANK OF IRELAND REDUNDANCY PLAN

The Financial Services Union has expressed fears for the future of the Bank of Ireland branch network following its decision to cut 1,400 jobs.

A voluntary redundancy programme was announced by the bank this morning, which will open to staff across the group in two weeks’ time.

The details came after Bank of Ireland revealed it had lost 669 million euro before tax in the first 6 months of this year.
