Simon Coveney says his record as Minister for Defence shows that he respects the judgment of military personnel.
It’s after internal Air Corps emails emerged indicating that he questioned a pilot who refused to fly him to Cork for a meeting in 2015 – because of fog.
The emails show the Air Corps were unhappy the pilot’s judgment was being challenged and said they had never received such a call in 25 years.
