DELEGATION FURTHER CEMENT SAVANNAH-WEXFORD LINK
A delegation from Wexford attended the Saint Patrick’s Day parade in Savannah in Georgia in the US.
They were lead by Fine Gael TD Paul Kehoe and members of Wexford County Council.
The delegation were there to build on historic links between the two areas, which have been rekindled in recent years.
Plans for further co-operation were outlined by the Mayor of Savannah Eddie Loach.
While there the Wexford delegation received a key to the city of Savannah.
It was accepted by acting Minister of State Paul Kehoe:
“I not alone accept this on my own behalf but (on) behalf of the people of Ireland and Wexford and I think it shows the great significance of the relationship that we have here because the key of a any city can open many doors” he said.
