HELP TO BUY SCHEME IS NOT DRIVING UP HOUSE PRICES – ENGLISH

The Minister of State for Housing is denying the ‘Help-to-Buy’ scheme is helping to drive up house prices.

A report from MyHome.ie and Davy today shows house prices were 5.5 per cent higher around the country in the first three months of 2017.

In County Wexford the figure is double that with prices rising by over ten per cent.

The ‘Help-to-Buy’ programme has been cited as one of the factors in the price rises – but Minister Damien English says that’s not fair.
