Increase In Live Register Figures For Co. Wexford

INCREASE IN LIVE REGISTER FIGURES FOR CO. WEXFORD

There were almost 200 more people on the live register in County Wexford last month compared with December 2014.

However there’s over 1,300 less people signing on in the county compared with the same time last year.

The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show Wexford town has the highest number of people signing on with 5,780 people on the live register at the end of last month.

It’s followed by Enniscorthy, Gorey and finally New Ross.

County Wexford has seen a monthly increase of 1.1 per cent in the live register figures, however when January 2015 is compared with the same month a year ago there’s been a 7.3 per cent drop.

There are currently 16,380 people signing on in the county.

Nationally the unemployment rate is 10.5 per cent according to the figures for last month – down slightly on December 2014.
