Litter Survey Extended In Co. Wexford

LITTER SURVEY EXTENDED IN CO. WEXFORD

The Irish Business Against Litter group has announced that Wexford town will once again be included in its annual 2014 Anti-Litter League.

The initiative – which is in it’s 13th year – has been extended in the county with more areas now included.

For 2014, IBAL or Irish Business Against Litter is expanding it’s inspections to include important link roads between towns in Wexford.

The group’s spokesperson Conor Horgan says they’ve made the adjustment because visitors’ impressions of a town are clearly influenced by the environment they pass as they make their way to it.

Last year over 80% of towns were deemed to be Clean to European Norms, among them Wexford, with Kilkenny emerging as the cleanest.

Set up in 1996, IBAL is an alliance of companies sharing a belief that continued economic prosperity – notably in the areas of tourism, food and direct foreign investment – is contingent on a clean, litter-free environment.
