Man Dies Following Shooting In North Dublin

MAN DIES FOLLOWING SHOOTING IN NORTH DUBLIN

A man in his 30s has been shot dead in Dublin.

The shooting happened on Clonard Street in Balbriggan shortly after 9am this morning.

The scene has been sealed off for a garda technical examination, and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

Gardai at Balbriggan station are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Crime reporter with the Irish Mirror Cathal McMahon says the man’s partner was also injured in the shooting.

“This man and his partner had dropped a child to school this morning and were walking away from Clonard Street in Balbriggan when they were approached and this man was shot a number of times” he said.

“It’s believed up to four times he was hit – his partner was also injured in the shooting”

“The man died at the scene, while his partner has been removed to hospital where she’s being treated for injuries” he added.
