The Irish Heart Foundation’s Mobile Health Unit will visit Wexford tomorrow, Tuesday, May 12, as part of its nationwide programme to bring free heart health checks to local communities.
Parked at McCauley Pharmacy from 10 a.m. to 3.45 p.m., the Unit will offer members of the public the chance to have their blood pressure and pulse measured, helping identify hypertension—a leading cause of cardiovascular disease that often goes undetected.
Each year, the Mobile Health Unit provides up to 10,000 free blood pressure checks, helping thousands of people become aware of potential heart health issues before they escalate. Nurses on site will also offer lifestyle advice and guidance on maintaining heart health, including screening for atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat that can lead to stroke or other serious complications.
This initiative is part of the Irish Heart Foundation’s ongoing effort to promote early detection and healthy living, giving communities the tools to protect their hearts.
