Plans for a new Primary Care Centre in New Ross have taken a significant خطوة forward, with the Health Service Executive confirming the project has now progressed to stage two of the tendering process.
The development is expected to deliver a major boost to healthcare provision in the area, offering a range of essential services for the growing local population.
At this stage, tenders submitted during the initial phase are being shortlisted and examined in detail, with the aim of awarding a contract to a successful applicant who will move forward with construction.
Speaking to South East Radio News, local councillor Michael Sheehan — who has been advocating for the project for several years — welcomed the progress, describing it as a positive step forward. He said securing the centre has long been a priority, stressing that New Ross deserves its fair share of medical services, including vital ancillary and CAMHS supports.
Councillor Sheehan added that while the update is encouraging, continued work will be needed to see the project through to completion, with further developments expected in the months ahead.
