Wexford has missed out on the chance to feature on its own official Monopoly board, after Kerry was chosen ahead of five other counties.
Manufacturers Winning Moves had shortlisted Wexford alongside Donegal, Tipperary, Tyrone, Wicklow and Kerry for the county edition of the popular game.
Community spirit, natural beauty and history were the three categories the company examined.
Monopoly has seen hundreds of versions released worldwide, from country and city editions to themed boards including Pokémon and The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine.
Winning Moves spokesperson John Keen-Tomlinson says decisions on what features in the Kerry edition will be guided by public feedback.
