Wexford Primary Care Centre has been honoured with a Healthy Workplace Award, recognising its commitment to the health and wellbeing of its employees. One of 23 workplaces nationwide to receive the award, the centre was presented with the accolade by Minister for Public Health, Wellbeing, and the National Drugs Strategy, Jennifer Murnane O’Connor TD, last week. Located on Grogan’s Road, the 3,715-square-metre Wexford Primary Care Centre opened in 2018, replacing the former County Clinic premises. It provides a range of health services and facilitates collaboration between a multidisciplinary team of professionals delivering primary care to the local community. The Healthy Workplace Award, launched as part of Healthy Ireland's framework, is presented to organisations that have demonstrated a commitment to employee health. Over the last 15 months, staff at Wexford Primary Care Centre have actively participated in the Healthy Workplace programme, focusing on five key pillars: leadership, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Derval Howley, Head of Service for Health and Wellbeing in the Waterford/Wexford area, expressed her pride in receiving the award, emphasising the positive impact of the programme on both the workplace and the broader Wexford community. She also highlighted the importance of employee wellbeing in ensuring the sustainability and success of any organisation.
