Although eviction notices rose to record levels nationally ahead of controversial new rental rules introduced in March, County Wexford recorded one of the slowest rent increases in the country.
New figures from the Residential Tenancies Board show average rents for new tenancies in Wexford rose by just 2-point-4 percent. making it the third-lowest increase in the country behind Tipperary and Wicklow.
The figures come as the RTB reports eviction notices reached record levels nationally during the first quarter of 2026.
More than 7,000 notices of termination were issued between January and March - the highest figure since records began in 2023.
The RTB says 60 percent of notices were linked to landlords planning to sell their properties, ahead of controversial new rental rules introduced in March.
