According to the latest Daft.ie Rental Price Report for Q4 2025, Wexford is experiencing a rise in rental prices, with the average cost of a three-bedroom house hitting €1,532, a 4.9% increase compared to the previous year. This surge in rent is part of a broader national trend, as market rents have risen by 4.4% across Ireland, marking the 13th increase in the last 14 years.
The report highlights a dramatic reduction in rental availability nationwide, with fewer than 1,800 homes available to rent as of February 1st, 2026—a 22% drop from the previous year. This shortage is most pronounced in Dublin, but other cities and regional areas like Wexford are also seeing tighter supply and rising rents.
Ronan Lyons, Economist at Trinity College Dublin, noted that the uncertainty surrounding new rent controls has contributed to the ongoing supply issues. "Rents continue to climb as the availability of rental properties becomes increasingly scarce, particularly outside the major cities," he said.
For Wexford, the report paints a picture of rising demand in the housing market, with rents continuing to outpace inflation, reflecting the challenges faced by renters across the region. As the market adapts to the evolving landscape of housing demand and policy changes, it remains to be seen how these trends will shape Wexford's rental market in the coming months.
