County Wexford is set to see significant upgrades to its water and wastewater infrastructure following the approval of a new national investment programme by Uisce Éireann.
The utility company and Wexford Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne, have welcomed the Commission for Regulation of Utilities' (CRU) Revenue Control 4 (RC4) determination, which provides the framework for water services investment up to 2029.
Among the key projects planned for Wexford are the Enniscorthy Regional Water Supply Scheme, upgrades to water treatment plants in Wexford town, Taylorstown and Gorey, as well as improvements to water and wastewater networks across the county.
Minister Browne said the investment would help support housing delivery, improve service reliability and ensure environmental obligations are met.
Uisce Éireann said communities will be kept informed as projects progress through planning, construction and delivery stages.
Nationally, the RC4 programme provides for €13.6 billion in investment, with hundreds of projects aimed at improving water services, reducing leakage and increasing capacity for future growth.
