A packed programme of free creative events and workshops will take place across County Wexford as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2026, Ireland’s national day of creativity for children and young people.
Funded through the Creative Ireland Programme and delivered locally by Wexford County Council Arts Department, events on June 6th will include art, music, storytelling, theatre, film, craft and hands-on activities for children and teenagers of all ages.
Activities will take place in libraries, arts centres and community venues across Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross, Wexford Town, Bunclody, Taghmon and Clonroche.
Among the highlights are lantern-making workshops with artist Caoimhe Dunne in Clonroche, shelter-building sessions at the National 1798 Rebellion Centre in Enniscorthy, theatre workshops at Enniscorthy Castle and the Creative Youth Lab ’26 Showcase at Wexford Arts Centre.
A number of outreach programmes will also run in schools, Family Resource Centres and IPAS Centres throughout the county from May onwards to encourage wider participation in creative activities.
Minister Patrick O’Donovan said Cruinniú na nÓg continues to celebrate young people as “creators, performers and creative voices” with more than 1,300 free events taking place nationwide this year.
The full Wexford programme is available on the Wexford County Council website and social media channels.
