No Survivors Expected In Plane Crash In French Alps

NO SURVIVORS EXPECTED IN PLANE CRASH IN FRENCH ALPS

The French President says he believes there will be no survivors after a passenger plane crashed in the Alps this morning.

Nearly 150 people were on board the Germanwings flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf when it disappeared from radar screens about an hour after taking off.

The site where the Airbus A320 came down has now been located, near Digne-les-Bains.

Captain Mike Vivian, who used to work at the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority, says there’s no reason the plane should have been flying low over the mountain tops.

Details of the nationalities of those on board the plane aren’t yet known.

The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs is advising anyone here with concerns about the flight to call 01-408 2527.
